The label Burfitt began in 2003, and is known for dark and artful womenswear, mixing fantasy with rock and roll/grungy elements. Lovisa Burfitt is also an accomplished painter and illustrator, and so the line also features a series of illustrated t-shirts made from silk and bamboo, on which she scrawls various fantasy images. In the
Burfitt cites abused basics, Frida Kahlo, tough love, manga, rock & roll, and masquerade as some of her main design influences - and you can see these appear in her personal image as well.
