I Love to Love Lovisa Burfitt

Lovisa Burfitt is a Swedish fashion designer based in Paris - and she's FABULOUS. An example on the left of my past and present love...

The label Burfitt began in 2003, and is known for dark and artful womenswear, mixing fantasy with rock and roll/grungy elements. Lovisa Burfitt is also an accomplished painter and illustrator, and so the line also features a series of illustrated t-shirts made from silk and bamboo, on which she scrawls various fantasy images. In the U.S., Creatures of Comfort, Opening Ceremony, and No. 6 have already hopped on board to stock her collections.

Burfitt cites abused basics, Frida Kahlo, tough love, manga, rock & roll, and masquerade as some of her main design influences - and you can see these appear in her personal image as well.

A little YouTube action for you:

(Yes, I know it's in French BUT there is an English interview during the video if you are patient enough to wait for it. Or perhaps you can comprehend French in which case you may find that part of it also enjoyable. Either way, press play.)
